Outreach Committee

adorable baby quilt – the easy peasy rail fence

The Oahu Modern Quilt Guild has an outreach committee that coordinates with local agencies for our quilted donations. We sew and donate quilts to Kapiolani Women’s and Children’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.  The quilts (baby, neonatal ICU and older children) are given to families in need.  We welcome quilts sewn by others for this project. We also sew pillowcases that are donated to the Institute for Human Services (IHS) for use at their shelters. Lastly, we also sew quilts that are donated to Pearl Haven, a local refuge that provides therapeutic services for youth ages 11-17 who have experienced sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, or trafficking.
