Christmas fun, quilting and more sewing projects

We had fun at our December party and sew day making mosaic slow sew (hand sewn) ornaments.

Our last quilting “round robin” – was themed “under the sea”.  The theme was anything under the sea. Each person who participated sewed 10 similar blocks of their idea.  Then each block was traded with others participating.  All participants then created a quilt using the blocks given. The finished quilts can be seen here.

Congratulations to US!  We have sewn a group quilt, which we started in June 2022 as a project to learn paper piecing. We finished it, and have entered it into QuiltCon 2023 of the Modern Quilt Guild happening in Atlanta, Georgia in February. It was part of the QuiltCon community Outreach challenge. The quilt, named Palm Leaves, will be offered for sale at QuiltCon 2023 and proceeds donated to the Carrie Steele Pitts home in Atlanta.  Here’s a sneak preview of what it looks like.
