Quilting and sewing in a garden

Sunburst quilt by Charlene

We all had a fun time at the April “Sewcial” at the beautiful Wahiawa  Botanical Garden in Wahiawa, Hawaii.  Sue brought a stack of cute cottons so we could cut them into kits to make pillowcases for the homeless at HIS (Institute for Human Services) here in Honolulu, Hawaii. Charlene, Ellen, Barb and Stephanie brought their sewing machines and quilts to sew.  Here’s a look at the stunning “sunburst” quilt Charlene was sewing.

At our April general meeting, Stephanie showed a video of an easy on point quilt from Missouri Star Quilt company and the baby quilt for donation she made using the video tutorial. She also showed several other easy quilts and provided youtube links for the tutorials.
